"Big thanks to Villanova for traveling to US Lacrosse Headquarters to play us today. They had us on our heels in the first quarter and challenged us the entire game," said Head Coach Anne Harrington.
Â
"Today we played with trust in our teammates and a lot of heart. The team stayed loose and adaptable as we made adjustments to our game plan in the first and second quarters and most importantly we never gave up. In the second quarter we sharpened our team play on defense and our offense attacked harder while being patient with our shooting. Huge shout out to our draw unit who faced one of the best in the country today and came up with a lot of extra possessions. Today's comeback win provided a boost to our confidence and our resiliency. We are reminded that every game has challenges but we managed the storm and found our way back to our game. I am impressed with the fire and fight this team showed today and I know we are preparing to play our best lacrosse yet in the coming weeks."
Alexis Morton led the team and tied a career high eight points on six goals and two assists. Juliana Stanley (three goals and one assist) and Colleen Quinn (one goal and three assists) each earned four points, and Charlotte Edwards scored two goals. Grace Muldoon and Bridget Lonsinger each scored a goal and tallied an assist, and Emma Kroneberger added a goal.
