Summer Series: Charlotte Boss
08/20/2025 | Women's Lacrosse
Hello Spider Women's Lacrosse Friends and Family!Â
Â
My name is Charlotte Boss and I am a senior (CRAZY to say!) from Narragansett, Rhode Island. I am so grateful and excited to wrap up our summer series and share a little bit about my last few months and what I am looking forward to this fall!Â
When I came home from school in May, I had the privilege of coaching my high school team, Lincoln School in Providence, alongside my aunt and dad. After our abroad trip in Amsterdam and Spain, I was thrilled to return in June just in time to coach them in the State Championship. It was a back-and-forth battle that ended in an incredible overtime win! Coaching alongside my family was unforgettable, but what made it even more special was watching my younger sister and cousin contribute as players to such a memorable championship run!
Â
Just three days later, I began a very different journey filled with many challenges, but also immense gratitude. This spring, I was diagnosed with compartment syndrome in both of my lower legs, which required two fasciotomy surgeries in June. For weeks I relied on a wheelchair and crutches, and while those early days were certainly frustrating, they gave me a whole new perspective on resilience and thankfulness for everything my body can do. Nine weeks post-op, I am thrilled to share that my legs are healing well, and I have even began running again thanks to the incredible support of my physical therapists Magda and Kyle. I would also like to extend a huge thank you to my family and teammates, who lifted me up, literally and figuratively, and sent countless messages and videos throughout my recovery! I could not have done it without all your support!Â
Â

Beyond recovery, this summer was also a time to prepare for exciting opportunities both academically and professionally. I am getting ready to being my internship this fall with UBS in Richmond, where I will be working with the Wealth Management Advisory Group. I am incredibly grateful for this opportunity and look forward to gaining hands-on experience as I take the next steps toward a career in wealth management and financial advising. I have also been studying for the Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam, which is a precursor to licensing exams I plan to take in finance, such as the Series 7. On campus, I recently began my role as Vice President for Community Engagement on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) Executive Board, where I look forward to creating meaningful opportunities to connect Richmond Athletics with the broader community this year. In addition, I am honored and excited to serve as a student representative on the University of Richmond Board of Trustees, working alongside the Student Development Committee to support and enhance the student experience!Â
Â
I hope you have enjoyed reading about how our team has spent the summer and the many different ways we have grown on and off the field. On behalf of the team, thank you for your unwavering support! As we look ahead to the fall and spring, our team is more motivated than every to compete at the highest level and we are eager to make this season one to remember in the Atlantic-10 and on the NCAA stage!Â
