Spiders Collect Dominant Win Over Longwood Thursday Afternoon

FARMVILLE, Va. – The University of Richmond Men's Tennis team collected a dominant 4-0 win at Longwood Thursday afternoon. With the win, the Spiders improved to 10-5 while the Lancers fell to 5-7.
In doubles action, Daniel Kliebhan and William Karpinski handled business on court one, taking their match 6-3 while on court two, John Walsh and Alex Wernink took their match 6-2 for the doubles point.
In singles, three matches were left unfinished as Mark Taranov led Gary Huang (LWU) 6-3, 4-1 on court six while Wernink and Walsh left their respective matches unfinished in the tiebreaker of the first set. Kliebhan took his court one match 6-0, 6-2 while Karpinski won 6-1, 6-1 on court two. Sebastian Miano was the final Spider to finish, taking his match on court four, 6-0, 6-2 to secure the 4-0 victory.
The Spiders will return to conference play on March 31, traveling to George Mason for a match with the Patriots before playing host to Fordham on April 1.
