McKenzie Yi joined Richmond as Assistant Director of Athletic Public Relations in September 2024.
Yi previously spent a semester long stint as the Assistant Director of Content Creation at Dartmouth College. While with the Big Green, she was responsible for the promotion and publicity of women’s soccer, cross country, track and field, women’s lacrosse, men’s heavyweight, men’s lightweight, and women’s rowing.
Before Dartmouth, Yi spent nearly two years at her Alma mater, Division II University of Mount Olive (N.C.), where she served as the Assistant Director of Athletic Communications. There, she gained experience in both photo and video, as well as written content.
Yi also had the opportunity to assist in media for Division II Baseball World Series in 2022 and 2023, which Mount Olive has hosted for the last 14 years. She also served as the social media contact for the Division II Field Hockey Championship and the Division II Indoor Track and Field Championship.
A native of Fairfax, Virginia, Yi received her Bachelor’s degree with a major in Sports Communication and minor in English in 2022 before earning a Master’s in Business Administration in 2023, both from Mount Olive, where she was a member of the women’s lacrosse and field hockey teams.
