ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The University of Richmond men's tennis team earned a 6-1 victory over Navy on Saturday afternoon powered by five-straight singles wins at the Tose Family Tennis Center. With the win, the Spiders improve to 2-5 on the spring season, while the Midshipmen fall to 13-9.

How It Happened
Richmond secured the doubles point with wins on courts two and one. Paxton Pritchard and Sam Rathmanner opened doubles for the Spiders with a 6-2 victory over Lachlan Buckingham and Ethan Garcia (Navy) at No. 2. Cole Brashear and Davis Wiley followed with a 7-5 decision against Aniketh Ayinala and Jason Kim on court one to clinch the point. Navy's George Cutone and Tommy Kim opened the match and defeated Charlie Burdell and Otto Sewell 6-0 at No. 3, but the Spiders carried a 1-0 lead into singles play.

The Midshipmen evened the match at 1-1 when Tommy Kim topped Sewell 6-4, 6-1 on court four. Richmond responded with five consecutive singles victories to secure the team win.

Charlie Burdell put the Spiders back in front with a 6-2, 7-5 result over Jason Kim at No. 2. Davis Wiley followed with a 4-6, 6-1, 6-0 comeback win against Ayinala at the top spot. Cole Brashear added a 3-6, 6-0, 6-1 victory over Buckingham at No. 5, and Nathan Germino earned a 7-6, 6-4 decision against Garcia on court six.

Paxton Pritchard closed out the afternoon with a 4-6, 7-5, 6-4 rally over Cutone at No. 3.
