Spiders Win Third Straight With Home Victory Over Campbell

RICHMOND, Va. – The University of Richmond men's tennis team earned a 6-1 victory over Campbell on Wednesday afternoon at the Westhampton Tennis Complex. With the win, the Spiders improve to 3-5 on the spring season, while the Camels fall to 4-7.
How It Happened
Richmond secured the doubles point with wins on courts one and two. Cole Brashear and Davis Wiley opened the afternoon with a 6-2 victory over Alex Fragasso and Max Hamon at the top spot. Paxton Pritchard and Sam Rathmanner followed with a 6-2 decision against Thomas Drapeau and Aleksander Hudjec on court two to clinch the early advantage. The match on court three featuring Charlie Burdell and Otto Sewell against Matias Lofink and Ethan Richardson was left unfinished with Richmond leading 5-2.
The Spiders carried that momentum into singles play, winning five of the six completed matches.
Otto Sewell extended the lead to 2-0 with a 6-3, 6-1 victory over Matias Lofink on court five. Charlie Burdell followed with a 6-4, 6-3 win against Alex Fragasso at No. 2, and Davis Wiley added a 6-3, 6-4 decision over Thomas Drapeau on court one to give Richmond a 4-0 advantage and secure the team win.
Cole Brashear added another point for the Spiders with a 6-2, 6-2 victory against Mikolaj Kowal at No. 4. Paxton Pritchard closed out Richmond's scoring with a 5-7, 6-3, 10-5 comeback win against Aleksander Hudjec on court three.
Campbell earned its lone point at No. 6 singles, where Max Hamon defeated Sam Rathmanner 7-5, 7-5.
