AMHERST, Mass. – The University of Richmond's women's lacrosse team fell 19-10 to UMass on Saturday afternoon at Garber Field. With the loss, the Spiders drop to 7-6 overall and 5-2 in Atlantic 10 play while UMass improves to 9-3 overall and 7-0 in league play.Â

Â
"We had a strong first quarter in every category and then let a lot of controllables get away from us. It was a tough day, and we will learn from it as we continue to take the season one day at a time and one game at a time. We remain focused on our process and getting better."

UMass was first to score, but Richmond quickly responded with a three-goal run to take a 3-1 lead. Both teams exchanged goals at the end of the first quarter, but the Spiders took the 4-2 lead heading into the second quarter.
