RICHMOND, Va. – The University of Richmond men's tennis team returned to Atlantic 10 play in dominant fashion on Friday, shutting out Saint Joseph's 4-0 at the Westhampton Tennis Complex. The Spiders improved to 10-8 on the season and 3-2 in A-10 action and picked up the program's third-straight win over the Hawks.
How It Happened
Richmond took early control and secured the doubles point as Dylan Atkinson and Otto Sewell cruised to a 6-2 win on court three, while Paxton Pritchard and Sam Rathmanner clinched the point with a matching 6-2 victory on court two. The match on court one was left unfinished with Saint Joseph's leading 5-4.
In singles, Davis Wiley set the tone with a commanding 6-2, 6-1 win over Justus Agbo (SJU) on court one. Atkinson followed with a pair of tiebreak victories to win 7-6, 7-6 on court three before Cole Brashear provided the clinching point, defeating Eli Gan-Dy (SJU) 6-4, 6-3 on court six.
