RICHMOND, Va. – The University of Richmond men's tennis team battled to a hard-fought 4-3 victory over Bucknell Saturday afternoon at the Westhampton Tennis Complex. The third-straight win pushed the Spiders above .500 at 6-5 on the season, while the Bison dropped to 7-4.

How it Happened
Bucknell struck first in doubles play, claiming the opening match on court one as Tahirovic and McDonald (BU) defeated Brashear and Wiley (RIC) 6-2. However, Richmond answered back on court two, where Pritchard and Rathmanner edged Bain and Stavrakas (BU) 7-5. The Spiders clinched the doubles point on court three, with Atkinson and Sewell taking a 6-4 win over Kilmer and Singh (BU).

In singles action, Bucknell responded with wins on courts one, two, and three to take a 3-1 lead. On court one, Stavrakas (BU) outlasted Wiley 3-6, 6-2, 6-4, while Tahirovic (BU) followed with a 6-2, 5-7, 6-3 win over Pritchard (RIC) on court two. The Bison extended their advantage with Bain's (BU) 7-6, 3-6, 6-3 victory over Sewell (RIC) on court three.

The Spiders mounted a comeback, securing wins in the final three matches. On court four, Atkinson rallied after dropping the first set to defeat Kilmer (BU) 1-6, 6-4, 6-2. Brashear kept the momentum going on court five with a dominant 6-2, 6-2 victory over McDonald (BU), while Rathmanner sealed the match for Richmond with a commanding 6-1, 6-1 win over Singh (BU) on court six.
