RICHMOND, Va. – The University of Richmond women's tennis team secured its first Atlantic 10 Conference victory of the season on Friday, defeating George Mason 5-2 at the Westhampton Tennis Complex. The win snapped a two-match skid for the Spiders, improving their record to an even 6-6 overall and 1-2 in conference play.

How It Happened
Richmond took control from the start, sweeping all three doubles matches to clinch the opening point. Abby Lee and Lucy Webber opened the match with a 6-1 win on court three against Maya Bayat and Lakshya Motam (MASON). Before Claire Le Du and Elizabeth Novak secured a 6-3 win over Cenan Liu and Lauren Splett (MASON) on court one to clinch the opening point. Lara Bakhaya and Lainey O'Neil rounded out doubles play with a 6-4 victory against Mary Young and Brooklyn Siegel (MASON) on court two.

In singles action, the Spiders kept their momentum rolling, winning the first three courts to clinch the victory. Bakhaya powered past Liu (MASON) 6-2, 6-0 on court one, while Abby Lee dominated Young (MASON) 6-1, 6-1 on court two. Le Du delivered the clinching point on court three, defeating Maitree Diksha Rout (MASON) 6-3, 6-0. The matches n courts four, five, and six were left unfinished with Richmond leading on courts four and five.
