Men’s Tennis Completes Undefeated Weekend, Moves to 8-1 Overall

DAVIDSON, N.C. – The University of Richmond men's tennis team posted two Atlantic 10 Conference wins over the weekend in Davidson, N.C., downing the Wildcats on their home turf 4-2 on Saturday, and collecting a 4-1 win over Duquesne on Sunday. Following the wins, Richmond improved to 8-1 overall and 3-1 in the A-10 while pushing the team's win streak to five straight matches.

Against Davidson, Spider duo Daniel Kliebhan and Paxton Pritchard defeated Kachkarov/Gongora (DAV), 6-1, while Sebastian Miano and Dylan Atkinson handled business on doubles court three with a 6-4 win over Lovrich/Ratliff (DAV). Davis Wiley and Cole Brashear trailed Singh/Pinzon (DAV), 5-4, but the match was abandoned on court two. In singles play against the Wildcats, Kliebhan defeated Singh (DAV) in three sets, 6-2, 5-7, 6-2, while Miano cruised past Kachkarov (DAV), 6-1, 6-3. Atkinson got the final win for the Spiders, downing Moran (DAV) 7-6, 6-2.

In the match against Duquesne, Kliebhan/Pritchard again came out on top on court one over Marshall/Teberikov (DUQ), 7(7)-6(1), while Wiley/Cole Brashear defeated Vance/Cianciotti (DUQ), 6-2, to clinch the doubles point for UR. In singles, Mark Taranov put Richmond up 2-0 with a win over Cianciotti (DUQ), 6-0, 6-2. Atkinson continued the threat for the Spiders, downing Vance (DUQ), 6-1, 6-3 on court five. The Dukes were able to get their only point off on court three as Vogelaar (DUQ) defeated Wiley, 6-4, 7(5)-6. Pritchard clinched the win for the Spiders on singles court two with a 3-5, 6-1, 6-0 win over Teberikov (DUQ).
