WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The University of Richmond men's tennis team fell on the road at William & Mary for the second time this season, 6-1, Wednesday night at the McCormack-Nagelsen Tennis Center.

The Spiders (5-9) started the match by losing the first two doubles matches. At No. 1 doubles, Brenden Volk and George Davis earned a 6-0 win against freshman Daniel Kliebhan (Newtown, Pa.) and junior Josh Keitelman (Chevy Chase, Md.).

William & Mary clinched the doubles point at No. 3 doubles as Chen Ruo and Finbar Talcott won against freshman Alaister Burke (Richmond, Va.) and junior John Walsh (Bryn Mawr, Pa.), 6-3.

In the final doubles match, junior Alex Wernink (Glen Cove, N.Y.) and graduate student Matt Fernandez (Richmond, Va.) went unfinished against Lev Kazakov and Sebastian Quiros at No. 2 doubles, 2-3.

In singles, William & Mary took a 2-0 lead after Ruo won in straight sets against Burke, 6-1, 6-4 at No. 6 singles.

The Spiders picked up a point at No. 4 singles as Walsh won in straight sets against Talcott, 6-2, 6-3. The Tribe went ahead 3-1 after Kazakov won against Kliebhan, 6-2, 6-4 at No. 2 singles. William and Mary clinched the match as Davis won in straight sets against Wernink 6-4, 6-4 at No. 3 singles.

At No. 1 singles, Fernandez battled but fell to Volk, 6-2, 6-4. In the final match, Keitelman fell short against Quiros, 7-6, 7-5 at No. 5 singles.

Richmond will finish the regular season with a A-10 battle against Saint Joseph's on Friday, April 16 at 1 p.m. on ESPN+ at the Westhampton Tennis Courts.
