
Spiders Pick Up Third Straight Win With 7-0 Defeat Of Longwood

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. – Spring officially sprung last weekend and the University of Richmond men's tennis team seems to have hit a new season as well.
The Spiders rolled off their third straight win, sweeping in-state foe Longwood, 7-0, on a beautiful Thursday afternoon on Richmond's campus.
Juniors Jacob Dunbar and Alexandre Felisa grabbed momentum quickly for the Spiders, taking down Longwood's top doubles duo by the score of 6-2. Junior Jonathan Quenard and sophomore Caleb Troy posted a 6-2 win of their own to secure the doubles point for Richmond.
In singles action, junior Alex Hahn grabbed the first victory for the Spiders, taking down Longwood's Bharani Sankar in decisive fashion, 6-1, 6-0. Freshman Brice Polender brought Richmond within a point of clinching the match with a 6-2, 6-0 win at #6 singles.
Dunbar locked up the victory for the Spiders with a 6-2, 6-0 win at the top spot in the singles lineup.
Felisa, Quenard and James Aronson all added singles victories of their own to complete the sweep of the Lancers.
Richmond is back in action next Tuesday, March 29 when they travel to Fairfax, Va. to face George Mason in an Atlantic 10 showdown. First serve is set for 4 p.m.
