04/03/2015 | Men's Tennis
Greenville, N.C. - The Spider men's tennis team headed south to face off against Connecticut Friday afternoon at the ECU Tennis Complex. The trip was worth it for Richmond, securing a 6-1 non-conference victory over the Huskies (2-15).
Richmond (12-6) jumped out to a quick lead taking two of the three doubles matches. Ethan Dunbar and Jacob Dunbar combined for a 6-3 triumph while Canyon Teague and Jonathan Quenard scored a 6-4 victory.
The Spiders won five of the six singles matches, with wins from the Dunbar brothers, Teague, Jonathan Quenard and Alex Hahn.
The triumph was the Spiders' fifth straight and 12th of the season.
"It was great to get our 12th win of the year," freshman James Aronson remarked. "We will continue to stay focused as we gear up for the end of the regular season and our conference championship."
Next up for the men's tennis team is a visit to Georgetown April 7 at 1:00 pm.
