02/09/2014 | Men's Tennis
DAVIDSON, N.C. – Despite the Dunbar brothers going undefeated, the Richmond men's tennis team fell to host Davidson and Presbyterian Saturday at the Knobloch Tennis Center located on Davidson's campus.
The Spiders started the morning off with the Wildcats and fell, 4-2, before facing off with the Blue Hose in the afternoon that also resulted in a 4-2 defeat.
Ethan Dunbar is continuing the spring off in great fashion, as he was flawless throughout the day at the No. 1 spot. He easily defeated Robert Lightbourn of Davidson, 6-2, 6-2, before rallying past PC's Grayson Mills, 6-1, 3-6, 6-1.
Following in his older brother's footsteps, Jacob Dunbar cruised past the Blue Hose's Rafael, 6-1, 6-1, after he defeated Evan Watkins of Davidson, 6-0, 6-2, a court down from Ethan at the No. 2 spot.
The Spiders will return to the court Saturday, Feb. 15 in Williamsburg, Va., to face host William & Mary and 10 a.m., before Hampton at 3 p.m.
