Dunbar Brothers Continue To Dominate At Hampton

HAMPTON, Va. – The Dunbar brothers continue to dominate as the Richmond men's tennis team blanked the Hampton Pirates, 7-0, Saturday afternoon.
At the top singles position, redshirt-junior Ethan Dunbar clinched his sixth-straight win when he downed Adbait Kirtane, 6-1, 6-0. A court down from Ethan, freshman Jacob Dunbar continues to be near perfect, as he clinched his seventh-straight singles win against Hampton's Aleksandre Davlianidze, 6-2, 6-0.
The Spiders went on to collect the remaining singles wins. Freshman Alex Hahn came back to win the 2-6, 6-5, 6-2 match on court three, while junior Dylan Trent took a 6-1, 6-5 victory over James McQueen on court four.
Freshmen Canyon Teague and Stathi Kyriakides rounded out the single wins on court five and six, respectively. Teague collected the 6-2, 6-1 win over Lakshamana Satchihananthan, while Kyriakides blacked Gary Faulcon, 6-0, 6-0.
In doubles action, the Dunbar duo picked up a 6-1 victory at the top spot, while freshman Jonathan Quenard and Trent took a 6-3 win on court two.
The Spiders will be back in action this Saturday, Feb. 22 when they take on Coastal Carolina and Appalachian State in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
