Spiders Pick Up First Win Of Season At VCU Invitational

The Richmond men's tennis team picked up its first win of the season with a 4-1 victory over Norfolk State in the VCU Invitational.
"It was a good weekend for our doubles court," said head coach Ben Johnson, "Rafa and Zach went 3-0 on the weekend. I was happy with the way we supported each other. We lost back to back close matches and still stayed positive. The team competed hard and make adjustments throughout the weeknd. I can't ask much more of them. Overall, I am proud of them. We finished on a good note."
Richmond dropped two tight matches with 3-2 losses conference foe Temple and Longwood.
The Spiders return to action Feb. 6 at 4:30 p.m. against George Mason at the Raintree.
