Men's Tennis Dominates Howard, Edged By GW

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. -
The Richmond men's tennis team dominated Howard 6-1 but was edged by conference rival GW 5-2 this past weekend.
In Richmond's 6-1 win over Howard, the Spiders swept the doubles point and recorded all but one victory in singles play.
Richmond was led by play of reigning A-10 Player of the Week Sebastien Fauchet's spotless play at NO. 1 singles and doubles.
Richmond fell to GW the following day 5-2 in Washington, D.C. Fauchet again recorded a victory in singles play, alongside No. 2 Jesse Feder.
"They edged us out in a squeaker," said head coach Billy Boykin. "Both teams played hard and I give their guys credit -- they won the big points when they needed to. This team was picked to win the Atlantic 10 Conference for a reason --they're solid from the top down. That said, we will walk away from this match with some newfound confidence. We now know that we're capable of playing with any team in the conference."
The Spiders return to action at Uva Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.
