COLLEGE PARK, Md. -
The Richmond men's tennis team fell to Maryland 6-1 Sunday afternoon in College Park, Md. Jesse Feder picked up the point for the Spiders in singles action. Feder, at No. 2 singles, defeated Sergio Wyss by account of 7-5, 6-7 (3) and 10-6.
"Maryland was tough," said head coach Billy Boykin. "They came out playing solid doubles and set the tone for the match. We battled hard in singles, but it wasn't enough. Any match against an ACC opponent is going to be a tough match. This will help prepare us for Atlantic 10 conference play. Jesse Feder played outstanding tennis today, managing a win in a superbreaker. He's been playing excellent tennis this season."
The Spiders host East Carolina at 2 p.m. in their home opener.
