
Men's Tennis Sweeps George Mason, 7-0

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - The University of Richmond men's tennis team concluded their weekend of play with a clean 7-0 sweep over George Mason on Sunday afternoon on the University of Richmond campus. Bobby McNally led the Spiders with wins at both No. 1 singles and doubles as they improve to 11-12 overall and 0-2 in Atlantic 10 play.
McNally and Matt Stillwagon paired up at No. 1 doubles for an 8-5 victory over the Dufils/Lipstock duo, while Brett Waikart and Doug Banker earned a win at No. 2 doubles and Michael Sommer and David Berry won at No. 3 doubles to give the Spiders a 1-0 advantage going into singles play.
The Spiders swept all singles spots, led by McNally at No. 1. Stillwagon followed with a 6-4, 6-3 victory over Garakani, and Belakhlef and Waikart each secured a 6-3, 6-0 win over their opponents at the No. 3 and 4 spots, respectively. Charlie Seltzer and Mark Berajawala each won their first matches of the year as they took 6-3, 6-3 wins over Schneider and Vogel at No. 5 and 6 as the Spiders ended singles action with a 6-0 advantage and finished the afternoon with a 7-0 lead over George Mason.
The Spiders will return to action on Wed. when they will play host to American at 2:30 p.m. on the University of Richmond campus.
