Hampton, Va. - The University of Richmond men's tennis team dropped its match to Hampton University, 4-3, Wednesday evening in Hampton, Va. The Spiders' record stands at 1-7 on the season and 1-0 in the Atlantic 10.
Senior David Donn (East Longmeadow, Mass.) and juniors Matthew Cabana (Charlotte, N.C.), Derek Schwandt (Kennett Square, Pa.) and Jeppy Moss (Fredericksburg, Va.) won their doubles sets and gave Richmond the early 1-0 lead. Hampton responded by winning four of the six singles sets. Schwandt was able to clinch his singles set, as did freshman Matt Stillwagon (Winchester, Va.).
The Spiders are back in action Friday afternoon when they host Pennsylvania at 6 p.m.
