
Men's Tennis Drops Davidson, 4-3

DAVIDSON, N.C. - Richmond's number five and six singles players battled back from one-set deficits to help earn the visiting Spiders a 4-3 win over the Davidson men's tennis team Saturday afternoon in Knobloch Tennis Center. The Wildcats fall to 4-2 with the loss while Richmond improves to 4-7.
With the team score knotted at 3-3, the match was decided by the number six singles contest. Davidson's Russ Burns took the opening set, 6-4, but Richmond's Jeppy Moss evened the match by taking the second set, 6-3. In the third set, Moss broke Burns in the eighth game and proceeded to serve out the match to give the Spiders their fourth victory of the year.
The day opened with Davidson earning the doubles point.
In singles, Richmond notched wins in the bottom three matches as well as the number two singles match for its four points.
