UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. -- The University of Richmond men's tennis team swept all six singles matches and won the doubles point to post a 7-0 victory over George Masonin men's tennis action Thursday afternoon at UR Tennis Complex.
Richmond senior Robert Flader (Arlington, Va./Yorktown) defeated Landon Schaefer at the No. 1 singles position (6-4, 6-4) while at the two singles freshman David Donn (East Longmeadow, Mass./East Longmeadow) bested Yannick Vuignier, 6-3, 7-5. At the three position, junior Todd Parker (Richmond, Va./Mills Godwin) was a straight sets (6-3, 7-6) winner over Chris Rivera while fellow classmate Mark Scordo (Essex Fells, N.J./West Essex) recorded a 6-2, 6-3 win at the fourth position. Sophomore Danny Scrafford (Centreville, Va./Centreville) posted a 6-3, 6-1 win in the No. 5 position over Federico Mendez.
In doubles competition, Flader teamed with Scordo to post an 8-4 victory at the top spot while Donn and Scrafford registered an 8-6 win at two doubles.
Richmond (8-6) resumes action on Friday, April 13 traveling to Blacksburg, Va. to face Va. Tech at 3:00 p.m.
