Men's Tennis blanks Richmond Hokies improve to 11-8
BLACKSBURG, Va. -- Richmond dropped its record to 12-10 on the season on Friday afternoon after falling to Virginia Tech 7-0 in men's tennis action at Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center on the Virginia Tech campus.
The Hokies, ranked No. 69 in this weeks' WingspanBank.com poll, won the doubles point to open the match and swept through all six singles matches. In the closest match of the afternoon for Richmond, senior Robert Flader (Arlington, Va.) dropped a 4-6, 6-2, 10-7 decision at No. 1 singles to Tech junior Davor Dupljak. A super tiebreaker wasplayed in lieu of a third set since the team match had been decided.
Richmond continues its road swing in western Virginia traveling to Radford tomorrow.
