Meghan Gill enters her third season as Associate Head Coach for the Richmond Women's Soccer team in 2025.
In her second year on staff, Gill helped guide the Spiders to a 4-10-3 overall record and a 2-7-1 mark in Atlantic 10 play. Richmond opened the season unbeaten through its first three matches (2-0-1)—the program’s best start since 2008—and posted its highest goal total (12) since 2021. Under Gill's influence, the Spiders earned shutout victories over Longwood, Howard, Duquesne, and George Mason, and showed marked improvement in offensive efficiency and defensive organization.
In her first season with the Spiders in 2023, Richmond began the campaign with a season-opening win for the first time since 2016 and saw individual players earn Atlantic 10 weekly honors.
"I am ecstatic that Meghan joined the soccer staff as the Associate Head Coach at the University of Richmond,” said head coach John Denton upon her hiring. “She has first-hand knowledge on the key factors of building a competitive program in the Atlantic 10 Conference at a highly respected academic institution. Meghan separated herself from a strong applicant pool with her ability to build meaningful relationships, develop players, and recruit relentlessly."
A Lock Haven, Pa., native, Gill came to Richmond following five seasons as an assistant coach at Davidson College, where she served as recruiting coordinator beginning in 2021. During her tenure, she helped the Wildcats to a 15-12-6 record across the 2020-21 seasons and a berth in the A-10 Championship match in spring 2021.
Before Davidson, Gill was the head coach at Davis & Elkins College, where she led the Senators to their first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance in 2016 after capturing the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Tournament title.
Her coaching résumé also includes four seasons at Columbia (Mo.) College, where she worked with both the men's and women's programs. She was instrumental in launching the Cougar women's program in 2012 and helped lead it to 55 wins, three AMC regular-season titles, two tournament championships, and three NAIA national tournament appearances.
In 2015, Gill was honored by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America as one of 15 women selected to its prestigious 30-under-30 program for up-and-coming coaches.
As a player, Gill was a standout midfielder and defender at Penn State, making 42 appearances and helping the Nittany Lions capture five consecutive Big Ten regular season titles. She was a three-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree and earned second-team All-Big Ten honors in 2008.
Gill holds a United Soccer Coaches Premier Diploma and a USSF 'B' license.
She earned both her bachelor's and master's degrees in accounting from Penn State in 2012 and later completed an MBA from Columbia College in 2013.
