FARMVILLE, Va. – The University of Richmond field hockey team collected a dominate victory over Longwood University, 6-0, Sunday afternoon at Elizabeth Burger Jackson Field to move to 3-1 on the season.

Richmond returns to Crenshaw Field to host regional foe Georgetown, Friday, Sept. 11 at 4 PM before gearing up for nationally ranked North Carolina Sunday, Sept. 13 at noon. Both games are free to attend and will be streamed on ESPN+ and internationally via atlantic10.com.

The Spiders took a program high 42 shots and 27 on frame. The squad also worked to earn 14 penalty corners, one shy of tying the season high 15 against Queens to open the year. Richmond held Longwood without a shot and a penalty corner until the last 10 minutes of action. Amanda Cimillo made the save on the only shot she faced.

Clara Larripa paced the Spiders offensively against the Lancers, collecting her sixth career Spider hattrick. Larripa, taking 15 shots with 12 on frame, got the scoring going with a goal in the ninth minute of action on a penalty corner play with an assist by Elen Nicholls. In the third quarter, Larripa cleaned up her own shot off a corner play for her second goal and wrapped up the three-goal day with the Spiders final goal in the fourth quarter with an unassisted one-timer.

Male Magnano chipped in the Larripa's shot in the 44^th minute to help the Spiders to take a 3-0 lead into the final 15 minutes of action. Magnano now has six points on two goals and two assists.

In the fourth quarter, Abril Peroni stuffed in a pass from Valen Luna Paratore for her fifth goal of the season in the 49^th minute.

Luna Paratore got her first goal of the season in the 52^nd minute to make it 5-0. She got the defensive stop on a Lancer restart deep in the Spider attacking third then dribbled to the goal and chips ball high past the goalkeeper. Luna Paratore now has five points on the season with a goal and three assists.
