HARRISONBURG, Va. – Powered by six home runs, the University of Richmond baseball team defeated James Madison 10-2 Tuesday night at Veterans Memorial Park and swept the season series. UR collected a 9-5 victory at Pitt Field Feb. 18.

Richmond, now 20-16 on the season, stays on the road to face Old Dominion Wednesday at Ellmer Family Baseball Complex. First pitch is set for 6 p.m. and will be streamed on ESPN+.

Michael Elko put the Spiders on the board in the first inning, hitting a solo home run to centerfield. Two batters later, Evan Wilson hit a two-run jack to right field to put the Spiders up 3-0 on the Dukes.

In the second inning, Grant Kennedy took the first pitch he saw over the left center wall. One batter later, Aidan O'Keefe launched his second home run of the season to left center for a 5-2 lead. With two outs in the frame, Elko collected his second solo home run of the game to straight away center field.

Richmond got single runs in the fourth, when RJ Johnson Jr. doubled in Kennedy and a run in the eighth, as Elko doubled in Johnson Jr.

UR starter Khristopher Morris allowed held JMU to two runs on three hits, a walk and two hit batters over two and two-thirds of an inning of work. Morris also struck out two. At the plate, Morris chipped in the sixth Spider home run, a two-run shot to left field in the fifth.

The Richmond bullpen combined to toss six and a third of an inning of scoreless action. Dylan Siesky collected his second win of the season after tossing two and a third of an inning, walking one and striking out three. Noah Haught, in his second outing on the mound, went one and a two-thirds of an inning, allowing one hit and one walk while striking out two. Angel Santiago-Cruz tossed the final two and a third of an inning, allowing a hit, a walk, and a hit batter while striking out four.
