Bakhaya Concludes Run at ITA All-American Championships

CARY, N.C. – Lara Bakhaya represented the Richmond women's tennis team at the ITA Women's All-American Championships in Cary, N.C., competing in the pre-qualifying singles draw against some of the nation's top talent.
Bakhaya opened play with a tight three-set battle against Notre Dame's Rylie Hanford, taking the first set 6-2 before falling 7-6, 7-6 in consecutive tiebreakers. She returned to action the following day against Quinnipiac's Willow Renton, but dropped a 6-4, 6-1 decision.
The ITA All-American Championships, held this year in Cary, N.C., bring together more than 200 of the nation's top Division I players in pre-qualifying, qualifying and main draw competition, and are considered one of the premier fall tournaments in college tennis.
