FULLERTON, Calif. – The University of Richmond women's tennis team fell 5-2 to Cal State Fullerton on Sunday afternoon at Titan Courts. With the result, the Spiders move to 2-7 on the spring season while the Titans improve to 10-2.

How It Happened
Richmond opened the afternoon by claiming the doubles point with victories on courts two and three. Lainey O'Neil and Lucy Webber started the action with a 6-1 decision over Seha Yu and Martina Markov at No. 2 before Beatriz Guerra and Elizabeth Novak secured the point with a 6-2 win against Amelia Zylberman and Milena Gevorgyan on court three. The top doubles match featuring Sofia Barbulescu and Abby Lee against Chloe Schwarz and Emilie Lugon-Moulin was tied 4-4 when play was halted.

Cal State Fullerton responded in singles play, earning wins on five courts to take the team victory. Martina Markov opened singles with a 6-0, 6-1 result against Sofia Barbulescu at the top spot before Chloe Schwarz followed with a 6-3, 6-0 decision over Lainey O'Neil on court six.

Emilie Lugon-Moulin extended the Titan lead with a 6-2, 6-1 victory against Elizabeth Novak at No. 2 and Milena Gevorgyan added another point with a 6-1, 6-4 win over Beatriz Guerra on court five.

Richmond picked up its lone singles point on court four as Lucy Webber battled back for a 1-6, 6-4, 7-6 (7-5) victory against Seha Yu. The final match of the afternoon came at No. 3 where Amelia Zylberman edged Abby Lee 1-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10-3).
