Spiders Dominate Final Day to Cap UNCG Invitational

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The University of Richmond men's tennis team turned in a strong showing at the UNCG Invitational this past weekend, highlighted by a series of singles wins across the lineup and multiple victories in doubles play.
The Spiders opened with Campbell, securing two of three doubles matches as Sam Rathmanner and Paxton Pritchard defeated Thomas Drapeau and Adi Dagan 6-4, while Otto Sewell and Charlie Burdell topped Aleksandar Hudjec and Matias Lofink 6-4. In singles against Gardner-Webb, Davis Wiley earned a straight-sets victory over Alexandre Bergeron, while Pritchard, Germino and Rathmanner each added wins to give Richmond momentum on day one.
Day two featured battles with UNCG and Emory. Wiley and Burdell teamed up for a 6-1 doubles victory over John Gabelic and Andrew Black, while Sewell and Germino defeated Hector Nissen and Sammy Presser 6-1. In singles, Rathmanner swept Ajay Kartik of Emory, Burdell cruised past Caleb Zimmerman 6-1, 6-1, and Sewell collected a 6-2, 6-1 win against Alec Anghel.
UR closed the weekend with a dominant performance against Campbell, winning all six singles matches. Wiley, Burdell, Pritchard, Sewell, Rathmanner and Germino each posted straight-set victories. In doubles, Wiley and Burdell added a 6-2 win over Davidson's Nikhil Mukherjee and Miles Kennedy to cap the event.
