RICHMOND, Va. – The University of Richmond men's tennis team announced its 2025 fall schedule on Wednesday, highlighted by six tournaments across the region, including the River City Open at the Westhampton Tennis Complex.
The Spiders open the fall schedule on Sept. 12-14 at the Elon Invitational before heading to the UNCG Invitational Sept. 19-21. Richmond returns home Oct. 3-5 to host the River City Open while select players will compete in the Atlantic 10 Masters Qualifier that same weekend. At last year's A-10 Masters Qualifier, Spider duo Cole Brashear and Davis Wiley picked up two wins, including victories over pairs from Drake and ETSU, before narrowly falling in the consolation semifinals. Richmond then continues with ITA Atlantic Regionals Oct. 9-13 in Blacksburg, Va., before closing out the fall Nov. 7-9 at the Navy Invitational.
Head Coach Houston Barrick, in his ninth season, enters the fall with a strong returning core, led by juniors Dylan Atkinson, Cole Brashear, Grant Cohen and Paxton Pritchard, sophomores Sam Rathmanner and Otto Sewell, and senior Davis Wiley.
Barrick also welcomes two newcomers. Sophomore transfer Charlie Burdell joins the Spiders from Tulane, where he posted a 1-7 singles record and 2-4 doubles mark in 2024-25, including a doubles victory with Alec Gaudin against No. 34 Auburn. Freshman Nathan Germino arrives from Jesuit High School in Valrico, Fla., adding more depth to the roster.
