Flanagan Headlines VaSID Women’s Indoor Track and Field All-State Awards

LYNCHBURG, Va. - Freshman Molly Flanagan was named Co-Track Rookie of the Year on the 2024-25 Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) University Division Women's Indoor Track and Field All-State honors announced Tuesday. Flanagan, along with four other Spiders, was recognized on the VaSID All-State honor list.
Flanagan was highlighted as Track Rookie of the Year and named to the VaSID All-State Second Team after her performance at the Atlantic 10 Indoor Track and Field Championships in February. She won A-10 titles in the 800 meters and the 4x800 relay to earn Most Outstanding Rookie honors. She later placed second in the ECAC 800 with a season-best time of 2:09.64.
Virginia Beringer, Molly Wise and the Spider 4x400 relay team were honored on the VaSID All-State First Team. Beringer won the A-10 title in the 500 meters and set a school record with a time of 1:11.63. Wise captured the A-10 title in the long jump with a mark of 6.09 meters. Beringer, along with Elke Van der Westhuizen, Morgan Elliott and Darya Mikusova, contributed to the gold-medal finish in the 4x400 relay with a time of 3:45.49.
The Spiders' distance medley relay (DMR) team was named to the VaSID All-State Second Team after its performance at the A-10 Indoor Championships. Dylan Miller, Morgan Elliott, Morgan Lyons and Brooke Reif contributed to the silver-medal finish with a time of 11:38.63.
The VaSID All-State teams are voted on by sports information representatives across the Commonwealth of Virginia.
