Wise Wins Long Jump, Spiders Record Several Personal-Best Times at Liberty Open

LYNCHBURG, Va. – The University of Richmond women's track and field team competed Friday at the Liberty Open at the Liberty Indoor Track Complex. Seven Spiders recorded personal-best times, and Molly Wise won the long jump.

Alexandra Cahill posted a personal-best time of 8.01 in the 60-meter prelims. Cahill also recorded a personal-best time of 26.75 in the 200 meters.

Aaleyah Foster finished 22nd with a personal-best time of 59.05 in the 400 meter.Â

In the 800-meter invite, Caroline Donohoe finished third in 2:09.41. Donohoe's time currently ranks No. 42 in the NCAA and No. 8 All-Time in Richmond's top 10 list. Teammate Molly Flanagan finished seventh in 2:14.83.

In the 1,000 meter, Brooke Reif finished fourth with a personal-best time of 2:56.42. Ashley Bolesh followed closely behind, finishing sixth in 2:57.67.

In the mile, Estella Bruneau finished 16th with a personal-best time of 5:19.54.

Mia Paolino finished second in the 3,000 meter in 10:23.40, while Samantha Lorey placed 18th with a personal-best time of 11:12.49. In the 5,000 meter, Addie Cohen led the Spiders, finishing third in 18:07.41. Charlotte Hudson placed sixth in 18:15.60, and Natalie Koors finished 12th with a personal-best time of 18:51.00.

Wise won the long jump with a mark of 6.18 meters. It marked the fourth consecutive meet this season that Wise has won the event.

Competing unattached, Jason Raffel finished sixth in the 1,000 meters in 2:31.09, while Joshua Gray placed 11th in 2:35.45. Cooper Groat finished third in the 1,000-meter invite in 2:26.59.
Up next for the Spiders is the Penn State National Open and the Patriot Games on Jan. 30-31.Â
