RICHMOND, Va. — Lauren Jones, Olivia Wilkie, and Caroline Thompson have been named All-American Scholars by the Women's Golf Coaches Association for their academic and competitive performances during the 2024-25 season. This is the seventh straight year multiple Spiders have earned WGCA All-American Scholars honors, extending the longest streak in program history. All-American Scholars are required to maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher and compete in at least half of their team's competitive rounds during the course of a season.
Jones, who graduated in May, is the second golfer in program history to be named a WGCA All-American Scholar four times, joining Emily Ward (2019-22). She finished her time at Richmond with a career scoring average of 78.00 strokes, 14th best all-time among Spiders.
Wilkie, a rising senior, has been named a WGCA All-American Scholar for the third straight year. Wilkie is sixth in program history in career scoring average (77.21) and was one of two Spiders to appear in all 12 events last season.
Thompson, who just completed her freshman season, was part of Richmond's lineup at the Atlantic 10 Championship, where she placed eighth and helped the Spiders to a conference title, and at the NCAA Regionals in Charlottesville.
Richmond has now earned 17 All-American Scholar honors over the last seven seasons. From its inaugural season in 2003 to 2018, Richmond totaled 11 All-American Scholar honors.
