Wise Crowned A-10 Champion in Long Jump

FAIRFAX, Va. -Â Â The University of Richmond's women's track and field team competed in the first day of the Atlantic 10 Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday afternoon. Eight Spiders advanced to the finals after competing in the preliminaries today. After the first day of competition, the Spiders sit in seventh place.Â

Highlighting the day was Molly Wise who captured gold in the long jump with a mark of 6.26 meters.Â

In the 1500 meter Phoebe Rubio ran a personal best time of 4:31.09 and finished fifth. Brooke Reif finished sixth with a time of 4:31.55.Â

In the 400 meter Virginia Beringer finished third with a time of 55.22 and Gabrielle Cummings finished sixth with a time of 55.57.Â

In the 800 meter Molly Flanagan finished fifth with a personal best time of 2:09.95 and Caroline Donohoe finished sixth with a time of 2:10.68.Â

In the 400 meter-hurdles Darya Mikusova broke the school record for the third time this season and finished first with a personal best time of 58.23. In the 100 meter-hurdles, Miksova finished third with a personal best time of 14.03.

In the 200 meter Gabrielle Cummings finished fifth with a personal best time of 24.14.Â

Richmond competes in the final day tomorrow, May 4 for the final day of the championship. The Spiders will compete in the 10k starting at 9:15 a.m.
