Spider Baseball Sweeps Bonnies Series

Richmond, now 18-2 on the season and 3-0 in A-10 action, takes an 11-game win streak to #23 Virginia, facing off on Wednesday in a 4 p.m. contest at Davenport Field at Disharoon Park.
In game one, UR starter Chase Topolski tossed six plus innings for the win. He scattered four runs on five hits, two walks, three hit batters and five strikeouts. Davis Wallon made his 2025 debut, getting two outs in the seventh. Tyler Rigot got the final out of the scoreless seventh before allowing three runs in the eighth. Dane Armson finished the ninth, retiring the Bonnies in order.
The Richmond offense didn't miss a beat, picking up right where the squad left Friday's shutout contest. Aaron Whitley had four hits, including two home runs, and six RBI while Michael Elko had a 4-for-4 game, with five RBI, two doubles and a home run. Jack Arcamone and Brady O'Brien also had three hits in the game. Arcamone had three doubles while O'Brien had two doubles and a home run.
Richmond took the lead in the second and didn't look back. Aidan O'Keefe had an RBI single to tie the game then scored on Whitley's first home run of the game to take a 4-2 lead. Elko doubled in two in the third before Arcamone doubled in one in the fourth. O'Brien launched a two-run home run, his second home run on the season, to push the Spiders lead to 9-4.
In the sixth inning, UR put up five runs on four hits and two walks. Elko hit a three-run home run before Whitley brought in two with a base hit to left. Connor Larson had a RBI base hit in the seventh to make it 15-4. After SBU picked up three in the top of the eighth, UR responded with six runs on four hits, including Whitley's second home run, a two-run shot, three walks and a hit batter. PJ Hughes and Trevor Dosenbach both collected their first hits and RBI in a Spider uniform in the frame.
St. Bonaventure tagged game two UR starter Jackson Hinchliffe for six runs, one earned, on three hits, two UR errors, a walk and a hit batter.
The Spiders started to chip away at the Bonnies lead in the second. Whitley doubled down the left field line to score two. Then in the third, Elko drew a bases loaded walk to force in one before a sacrifice fly by Larson made it 6-4 Bonnies.
SBU put two more back on the board in the fourth after UR reliever Chayse Gruber tossed two scoreless frames. Whitley led off the bottom of the fourth with a solo shot to left to put the Spiders within 8-5.
Jason Shockley took over in the fifth and picked up the win after going two and two-thirds of an inning, allowing two runs in the seventh while scattering five hits, a walk and striking out four.
Whitley's second double of the game brought in two runs in the fifth. Jordan Jaffe traded places with Whitley with an RBI double of his own to tie the game at 8-all. Arcamone hit a two-run home run, his sixth of the season to tie Jaffe for the team lead, to give UR a 10-8 advantage. O'Brien picked up his third home run of the season two pitches later for an 11-8 lead.
UR added three more runs in the sixth, including a solo home run by Larson to lead off the frame, and three more in the seventh and one in the eighth.
Brian Reinke tossed one and one-third of an inning, allowing one run on a hit and a walk with a strikeout while Dylan Siesky tossed a scoreless ninth, allowing one walk
