Spiders Complete Successful Trip to Boston at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational

BOSTON, Mass. — The University of Richmond's women's track and field team competed at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational at Boston University this Saturday afternoon.
In the 60-meter, sophomore Gabrielle Cummings placed fourth with a time of 7.71. Cummings also improved her standing on the Spiders' all-time indoor rankings, moving to fifth after placing second in heat one with a personal best of 24.66.
Senior Virginia Beringer placed 11th in the 400-meter invite with a personal best time of 55.56. Beringer now ranks third on the Spiders' all-time indoor list.
In the 400-meter, sophomore Morgan Elliott ran a personal best time of 56.77, placing second. Her new time moves her to ninth on the Spiders' all-time indoor list.
Freshman Molly Flanagan ran a season best of 2:11.54 in the 800-meter. Flanagan's mark ranks her 10th on the Spiders' all-time indoor list.
Senior Dylan Miller ran a season best of 2:51.11 in the 1,000-meter and placed 14th.
The Spiders' 4x400-meter relay of senior Elke Van der Westhuizen (56.76), Beringer (55.02), Elliott (56.75) and graduate student Darya Mikusova (56.30) finished fifth with a time of 3:44.80. Their mark ranks second on the Spiders' all-time indoor list.
Richmond is back in action next week as it travels to Fairfax, Va. for the GMU Father Diamond Invitational Feb. 21-22.
