Track and Field Earns Multiple Top-10 Finishes at Darius Dixon Memorial Invitational

LYNCHBURG, Va. – The University of Richmond's women's track and field team competed at the Darius Dixon Memorial Invitational in Lynchburg, Va., today. The Spiders ended the day with seven personal best marks and six top-10 race finishes.
Day 1
In the 400-meter, junior Nina Lavelle finished 16th with a time of 58.56. Freshman Cameron Whidbee finished 19th with a personal best time of 58.71.
In the 800-meter, sophomore Ashley Bolesh finished 10th with a time of 2:18.32.
In the 5k invitational final, junior Mollie Fenn finished fifth with a personal best time of 17:18.72. Teammates senior Laurel Kurtz finished eighth (17:35.27) and sophomore Charlotte Hudson finished 10th (17:38.29).
Richmond saw two personal bests in the 3k invitational final. Junior Phoebe Rubio finished 20th with a time of 9:52.71. Freshman Hallie Muniz finished 25th with a time of 9:57.27.
In the 3k open final, three freshmen finished with personal best times. Avery Beike finished sixth with a time of 10:06.27. Freshman Addie Cohen followed in 14th with a time of 10:12.49. Rounding out the Spiders' personal best parade, Mia Paolino finished 20th with a time of 10:18.04.
Running unattached, junior Henry Hasse finished third in the 5k invitational final with a time of 14:41.93. Junior William Marhold finished 12th with a time of 14:56.22. In the 3k open final, graduate student John Vogel finished 38th with a time of 9:02.49.
Day 2
In the mile open final, junior Brooke Reif won with a personal best time of 4:53.10. Her time qualifies her for the ECAC championships.
In the 1,000-meter, Bolesh finished 8th with a time of 2:58.84.
Running unattached, junior Cooper Groat won the 1k with a time of 2:25.40. In the mile invitational final, sophomore Eric Scully finished 13th with a personal best time of 4:11.49
Richmond is back in action next week as it travels to Fairfax, Va. for the GMU Father Diamond Invitational Feb. 21-22.
