Richmond Opens Atlantic 10 Field Hockey Championship Against Davidson

RICHMOND, Va. – The University of Richmond field hockey team will open the 2025 Atlantic 10 Conference Championship with a semifinal contest against Davidson at Crenshaw Field beginning Thursday, Nov. 6, the league announced Friday (Oct. 31).Â

Top seed Richmond (11-7, 5-1) will take on four seed Davidson (9-8, 3-3) at 11 a.m. Second seed VCU (13-4, 5-1) will face three seed Saint Joseph's (9-9, 4-2) for a 2 p.m. match up.

The winners will advance to the A-10 Championship game on Saturday, Nov. 8 at noon on Crenshaw Field.

Tickets to attend the 2025 Atlantic 10 Conference Championship are $10 for adults, $7 for seniors and children and free for students with an ID from an Atlantic 10 institution. Groups of 10+ can get tickets $5 each. All three games of the Championship will be streamed domestically on ESPN+ and internationally on the Atlantic 10 Network.

In the regular season, Richmond collected victories over all three other teams in the postseason tournament. The Spiders defeated the Wildcats, 2-1, on a goal by Reese Miller in double overtime in Davidson Oct. 10. UR captured the program's first victory over Saint Joseph's since 2017 with a 2-0 victory Oct. 17 at Crenshaw Field. Richmond captured the top seed and a share of the 2025 regular season title with a 2-1 double overtime win over VCU (Oct.31). This is Richmond's tenth regular season title and first since 2015.Â
Spiders leading scorer Clara Larripa scored in all three victories and finished the regular season with a career-high 17 goals and eight assists for 42 points.Â
