Richmond Field Hockey Announces 2026 Schedule

RICHMOND, Va. – University of Richmond head coach Martu Loncarica has announced the 2026 field hockey schedule, her third at the helm of the program. UR will prepare for Atlantic 10 Conference action with a tough non-conference slates that includes three ACC programs, as well as top teams from the Big East, CAA, MAC, Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) and Patriot League.
After pre-season exhibition contests against Maryland, William & Mary and James Madison, the reigning Atlantic 10 Conference Regular Season Co-Champions, will kick off the season at home with the first two of 11 contests at Crenshaw Field. The Spiders will welcome Queens (N.C.) on Friday, Aug. 28 and perennial NCAA Tournament program Duke on Sunday, Aug. 30.
Richmond will start September on the road, taking on reigning Patriot League regular season champions American in Washington, D.C., on Sept. 4 before traveling to MAC foe Longwood (Sept. 6). Spider Hockey returns to Crenshaw Field for three-straight matches, hosting Georgetown (Sept. 11), 2025 NCAA runner-up North Carolina (Sept. 13) before opening Atlantic 10 action against Davidson (Sept. 18).
Richmond will then head to Williamsburg Sept. 20 to face William & Mary before closing out the month in Philadelphia, taking on 2025 Atlantic 10 Conference Champions Saint Joseph's on the 25th.
The Spiders will open October hosting La Salle (Oct. 2) before taking on Liberty (Oct.4). UR will take a business trip to Missouri to face Saint Louis (Oct. 9). On a conference bye weekend, Richmond will host MSPF foe Delaware (Oct. 16) and Big East opponent Old Dominion (Oct. 18). Before traveling to Lock Haven (Oct. 23) to resume league play.
To close out the regular season, the Spiders will return to Crenshaw Field to host a third ACC foe in Louisville (Oct. 25) and crosstown rival VCU (Oct. 30) to wrap up A-10 action.
