Men’s Tennis Falls Just Short Against Georgetown

RICHMOND, Va. – Despite two singles wins from Dylan Atkinson and Sebastian Miano, the University of Richmond men's tennis team dropped a hard-fought battle to visiting Georgetown Friday morning, 5-2, at the Westhampton Tennis Courts. With the loss, the Spiders fell to 10-6 on the year while the Hoyas improved to 13-5.
How it Happened
In doubles, Georgetown posted a win on court one before Spider duo Cole Brashear and Davis Wiley came away with a win over Fellows/O'Sullivan (GU) 6-2. Despite the win, GU was able to get the final win off on court three to secure the doubles point.
In singles, the Hoyas went up 2-0 with a win on court one, before Atkinson got the first point off for the Spiders with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Foster (GU) on court five. After a Georgetown win on court two, Miano brought another point back for the Spiders with a 6-7, 6-2, 6-4 win over Sharma (GU) on court four. Two more wins for the Hoyas on court three and six gave the opposition the 5-2 victory.
