Spiders Ground Hawks Sunday Morning at Home

RICHMOND, Va. – Behind a pair of doubles wins and five-straight singles wins, the University of Richmond men's tennis team grounded the visiting Saint Joseph's Hawks Sunday morning at the Westhampton Tennis Courts, 6-1. With the win, the Spiders improved to 11-6 and 4-1 in Atlantic 10 Conference play while the Hawks fell to 5-14 on the season and 0-4 in conference.
How it Happened
In doubles, Spider duo Cole Brashear and Davis Wiley picked up a 6-3 win on court one before Daniel Kliebhan and Sebastian Miano handled business on court two, downing Butler/Gan-Dy (SJU), 6-2. Dylan Atkinson and Nick Roddy led Agbo/Papadopoulous (SJU), 4-3 on court three, but the match was left unfinished.
Kliebhan posted a 6-1, 7-5 win on court one over Agbo (SJU), while on court three, Wiley almost came away with a sweep, but downed Papadopoulos (SJU) on court three. Miano cruised to a 6-1, 6-2 win on court four and Atkinson handled business on court five with a 6-0, 6-2 win over Gan-Dy (SJU). Brashear had the last point for the Spiders with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Rubin (SJU) 6-1, 6-2.
