RICHMOND, Va. – A goal in the 18^th minute of action from the opposition would be the difference as the University of Richmond Women's Soccer team dropped its 2023 home finale Thursday afternoon against Rhode Island, 1-0. With the loss, the Spiders fell to 3-10-4 on the year and 1-7-1 in the A-10 while the Rams improved to 4-7-6 and 4-2-3 in conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
After Molly Wierman put up a shot in the 10^th minute, Rhode Island was able to work the ball down the field for back-to-back shots. In the 18^th minute, the Rams slotted a shot past Taylor Montague for the 1-0 advantage. In the second half, JoJo McShane netted a shot in the 71^st minute, but was ruled offside by the officials. Casey Merz would get a final shot off in the 87^th minute, but the Spiders were unable to find the back of the net for the 1-0 loss.
