Richmond falls to Duquesne at Home

RICHMOND, Va. – The Richmond Spiders hosted Duquesne for an Atlantic 10 matchup Thursday evening at President's Field. Richmond fell 1-0 and sits at 1-7-1 (0-2-1 A-10) this season while Duquesne improves to 4-3-1 (2-0-1 A-10)
The Spiders outshot the Dukes 9-8, including 6-5 on goal, and the two teams went into halftime scoreless. Duquesne struck right out of halftime with a bar down goal in the 46th minute, and that proved to be the game-winner as Richmond could not retaliate.
Emma Coleman put up four shots for the Spiders including a shot off the cross bar in the 10th minute. Richmond also held the advantage in corners, 6-2.
Goalkeeper Taylor Montague made four saves on the day.
The Spiders return to action next Thursday when they travel to Rhode Island Sept. 29 for a 7 p.m. kickoff.
