Spiders Sweep Rhode Island for Second Straight A-10 Win

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The University of Richmond women's tennis team swept its second straight Atlantic 10 match, defeating Rhode Island 4-0 Saturday afternoon on neutral ground at Saint Joseph's University's tennis complex.

"The team played great this weekend. Both days were some tough conditions, but they played very tough and powered through the adversity," said head coach Mark Wesselink.

The Spiders clinched the doubles point with wins at the top two spots, and after taking a 3-0 lead with straight-set wins in singles on courts three and four, Emily Dunbar took the third set at the top singles spot to clinch the match for the Spiders.

Richmond returns home to host Longwood at the Westhampton Tennis Courts Wednesday, April 6 beginning at 2 p.m.
