Spiders Defeat Longwood for Third Straight Win

RICHMOND, Va. – The Richmond Spiders won their third straight match Wednesday afternoon, defeating in-state foe Longwood 6-1.

The duo of Helene Heiberg and Emily Garvin battled out a tiebreaker win on court three to clinch the doubles point for the Spiders, and then Richmond took the singles points on courts one through five.

Courts one, two, four, and five each won in straight sets while Heiberg won a third-set tiebreaker 10-5 on court three. Garvin also went to a third-set tiebreaker, coming up just short in the thriller, 11-9.

The Spiders are home again for the last time this season Friday, April 15. The team hosts St. Bonaventure at 11 a.m.
