Garvin Earns First Win as Spiders Sweep Saint Joseph's

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Richmond Spiders overcame blustering conditions Friday afternoon en route to a 4-0 win over Atlantic 10 opponent Saint Joseph's.

"We showed our toughness in very heavy winds today, and today's match was as much about heart as skill," said head coach Mark Wesselink.

Emily Garvin picked up her first win as a Richmond Spider as she and Helene Heiberg clinched the doubles point with the win on court three.

Emily Dunbar, Sara Salemyr, and Marta Buendia each won their singles contests to clinch the match.

The Spiders are back at it against Rhode Island Saturday morning at 11 a.m.
