THIBODAUX, La. – The University of Richmond women's tennis team won all six singles matches to earn a road sweep at Nicholls Tuesday at Colonel Tennis Complex. Both teams decided not to play doubles.

In singles, sophomore Helene Heiberg (Oslo, Norway) got Richmond on the board with a 6-1, 6-0 win against Mariia Kozachok at No. 6 singles. The Spiders went ahead 2-0 after a straight-sets win from senior Dessi Zlateva (Sofia, Bulgaria) against Simona Maksimovic, 6-2, 6-2 at No. 2 singles.

At No. 1 singles, junior Emily Dunbar (Medina, Ohio) earned a 7-5, 6-2 win against Laura Lopez. Senior Kiana Marshall (Bridgetown, Barbados) played a close match against Lingfeng Gu, 6-1, 4-6, 6-3 at No.3 singles. Marshall was able to win the third set 6-3 after dropping the second set 6-4.

Senior Lea Owens (Olney, Md.) also went three sets coming back to win the match against Carla Bouygues, 4-6, 7-5, 6-4 at No. 4 singles. Freshman Andrea Campodonico (Asuncion, Paraguay) had the toughest test with a third set win against Morgan Forshag, 2-6, 7-5, 7-6 (2). Campodonico won the third set tiebreaker, 7-2.

Richmond (5-5) will remain in New Orleans and face UNO on Wednesday, March 11, at 2 p.m. at the University Tennis Center.
