
Spiders Pick Up Fourth-Straight Win Over Binghamton, 5-2

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The University of Richmond men's tennis team won its fourth-straight match in a 5-2 victory against Binghamton Friday night at the Tose Family Tennis Center.
The Spiders (7-2) went ahead 1-0 after winning the doubles point. Sophomore Joe Nardini (Arlington, Va.) and junior Klein Evans (Raleigh, N.C.) won a tight 6-4 match against Dylan Friedman and Ingo Saez at No. 3 doubles.
The Bearcats' duo of Kushaan Nath and Tiago Lourenco defeated freshman Josh Keitelman (Chevy Chase, Md.) and junior Matt Fernandez (Richmond, Va.), 6-3, at No. 1 doubles.
The Spiders won the doubles point after junior George Lovitt (Marvin, N.C.) and freshman John Walsh (Bryn Mawr, Pa.) won 7-5 against Alejandro Pena and Ludovico Cestarollo at No. 2 doubles.
In singles, Evans won in straight sets against Friedman, 6-4, 6-0, at No. 3 singles. Lovitt continued his winning ways with a straight-sets win against Lourenco, 6-1, 6-3, at No. 4 singles.
Senior Brice Polender (Lake Bluff, Ill.) fell short against Cestarollo, 7-5, 6-1, at No. 1 singles. Walsh clinched the victory for the Spiders with a 6-3, 6-4 win against Saez, at No. 5 singles.
Fernandez gave Richmond its fifth point of the match with a 6-1, 7-5 win at No. 2 singles against Nath. In the final match, Nardini won the first set 6-1, but lost the second set 2-6 and a tiebreaker in the third 7-6 (2).
Richmond will remain in Annapolis to face the United States Naval Academy on Saturday, Feb. 23, at 1 p.m.
