
Wo Men's Tennis Battles At East Carolina

GREENVILLE, N.C. – The Richmond women's tennis team fell to the East Carolina Pirates, 5-2, in non-conference action Tuesday afternoon at the ECU Tennis Complex.
“Today was a tough loss but it was great training for A-10s as we are headed towards the final stretch of the season,” commented Richmond head coach Mark Wesselink. “Elizabeth Sims and Katya Salas were warriors on the singles court today.”
Senior Elizabeth Sims and sophomore Katya Salas picked up the two Spider points today for Richmond. Sims battled at the No. 3 spot and recorded the 4-6, 6-2, 6-1 victory over Maria Storozheva.
Playing on court five, Salas took the 6-4, 5-7, 10-8 victory over the Pirates' Nicole Laduca for Richmond's third match that went to three sets.
The Spiders will return home Saturday, April 5 to host South Alabama at 10 a.m.
